One More Set

Manifesto

We were built around the day.

Most fitness apps are built around the workout. That is the mistake.

The fitness industry sells you an hour. The hour is the unit of consumption: the class, the session, the program. The user is assumed to find it.

Most days, the user does not find the hour. So the user feels guilty, the user lapses, the user buys the next program promising the hour will be easier this time. The hour gets harder. The guilt scales. This is the loop.

The body does not care about the hour. The body responds to dose, intensity, and frequency. The body has been telling us this for sixty years of exercise science. We have refused to listen because the hour is more marketable than the dose.

One More Set takes the body’s side. It distributes the day’s work into pieces small enough that you cannot make an excuse. It tells you exactly when, exactly what, exactly how many. It counts the reps so you don’t have to. It locks the apps you doomscroll on until you do the reps. It films the work without asking, and on Day 100 it gives you the film.

It does not collect your data. It does not send it anywhere. It does not sell you a Pro tier. There are no Pro features. There is one tier and it is free.

The app is brutalist because the work is brutalist. Reps are numbers. Streaks are numbers. The progress ring is a number. We do not decorate numbers. We do not surround them with pastels and breathing exercises. We show them and we leave.

The voice of the app, when it speaks at all, is the voice of someone who respects your time. It does not say great job! It does not say amazing! It says 50% — 5 of 10 sets done — past halfway. Then it stops talking.

We do not believe in the hour. We believe in the day. The day is what you actually have.
